In-Person Training Courses

I have designed and run a variety of in-person training courses focused on improving the skills of weather forecasters. The slides below are from an AMS annual meeting presentation where I described a course that I designed and ran for international forecasters learning about Hurricane forecasting at the NOAA National Hurricane Center.

Academic Teaching

I have taught a variety of academic courses in the past (listed below). In particular, I developed a new course focused on the applications of math in atmospheric science which included a lab. That course is now a mandatory course in the NC State Atmospheric Science undergraduate curriculum.

Past Courses:

  • Spring 2017 — NC State University — MEA 422: Atmospheric Dynamics II
  • Fall 2016 — NC State University — MEA 315: Mathematical Methods in Atmospheric Science
  • Fall 2015 — NC State University — MEA 315: Mathematical Methods in Atmospheric Science
  • Spring 2015 — NC State University — MEA 135: Introduction to Weather and Climate
  • Fall 2012 — University of Oklahoma — METR 1014: Introduction to Weather and Climate
